Privacy policy

Marketing in Public (“we”) publishes founders' marketing experiments. You can read everything without an account. This page explains what we collect when you do more than read, why, and how to have it removed.

What we collect, and why

• Newsletter: your email, where on the site you signed up, and when. Used only to send the newsletter.
• Experiment submissions: your name, email and the details you submit. Your email is used only for editorial questions and is never published. Your name, company and experiment may be published with attribution — you confirm this when you submit.
• Profile claims: your name, email, a proof link and any message — used to verify that a profile is yours.
• Feedback on experiments: “useful / not useful” votes are anonymous. If you add a comment, report a wrong number or ask for a founder's playbook, we store what you write and, if you give it, your email — used only to follow up on that request.
• Your browser remembers locally whether you already voted on an experiment, so you aren't asked twice.

Analytics

• We don't currently run any analytics tools.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising trackers.

Who processes data for us

Our hosting and database providers store the site and its data. Newsletter emails are sent through our newsletter provider (beehiiv). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

If you're featured on the site

Experiments are built from what founders shared publicly, with links to the original posts, or from what they submitted to us. If you're featured and want something corrected or removed, use Claim this profile on your founder page, the Report a wrong number link on the experiment, or contact the contact address listed on this page (coming soon). We act on removal requests promptly.

How long we keep it

Newsletter emails until you unsubscribe. Submissions, claims and feedback for as long as they're useful for the editorial record, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how it's used. Contact the contact address listed on this page (coming soon). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time from any issue.
